CGX – (Cancer Genomics) Is a test that reveals a person’s hereditary risks for contracting cancer. It can be agreed that nobody wants to hear their name in a sentence that includes the “C” word. If a CGX test is negative a patient can have some peace of mind that they have not inherited a harmful genetic variant. This test also helps patients with a positive test result know their elevated risks and allows for better managing the possibility of actually contracting cancer through their lifestyle choices. Cardiovascular Genomics – Is a DNA test that shows whether a patient is at risk for inherited cardiac and vascular issues. If a patient has a family history of heart or vascular conditions this test may provide important insight into their inherited risk of having the same.
