AbbaWell has no access to private medical information that the patient does not provide.  A patient can permit the AbbaWell provider to share their medical records with their AbbaWell providers on the AbbaWell EMR platform to help with their diagnosis.  Only the AbbaWell providers have that information.  Records are NOT kept locally but rather are kept on redundant remote HIPPA compliant secure servers and are only available to AbbaWell providers through secure communication channels.

Retail consumers who contact AbbaWell, directly through our website or by phone, requesting a physician consultation for common ailments, prescription refills, laboratory tests, etc. will pay a small consultation fee at the time of the request. For members of organizations that are contracted with AbbaWell, there are no co-pays or deductibles that need to be met. However, you must pay the pharmacy once you’ve received your prescription. If the patient has health insurance, a consultation paid for by the patient and provided by AbbaWell may be able to be claimed by the patient for reimbursement.  This may also apply to prescriptions that are paid for by an AbbaWell patient. AbbaWell does NOT BILL INSURANCE on behalf of the patient for any consultations or prescriptions.

Yes. Our Telehealth program allows the patient to speak to one of the healthcare providers in our network of more than 500 U.S. Board-Certified Physicians and Nurse Practitioners (not a nurse or physician assistant), on the phone or through our secure web portal, to obtain non-emergency medical attention and prescriptions. A prognosis is provided over the phone; prescriptions are called-in or faxed to the local pharmacy.

No. Retail patients can book an appointment or call in and pay per consultation on an unlimited basis.  If you are a member of one of our contracted organizations, as a patient, you can call the doctor an unlimited number of times each month, as needed, at no out-of-pocket cost.  However, if the AbbaWell provider feels that you need to be seen by your primary care physician, or if they feel that you are excessively overusing the services, the physician may direct you to a more appropriate medical professional.

Yes. Our U.S. Board-Certified Physicians are available to all AbbaWell patients who travel throughout the United States and abroad.  Because AbbaWell has providers in all 50 states you will connect with a healthcare practitioner licensed in the state you are in at the time of the call, or where you will be located soon if traveling.  The AbbaWell healthcare provider needs to be licensed in the state in which you will pick up any prescription if needed.  When an AbbaWell patient is outside the United States, the doctor is utilized as a medical adviser and cannot write a prescription.
